Can You Convince Your Clients?

I often hear Realtors and other stagers say that it is difficult to convince sellers to invest their money in home staging upfront, when they are not sure if their house will sell or not.  I agree…I’ve also had that experience. Sometimes I overcome the objections by pointing out the following:

1) There are lots of houses out there for buyers to choose from, so it is important to outshine the competition.

2)  The vast majority of buyers today are looking for move-in ready homes and are willing to pay more for a home that has been updated and in good repair.

3) There are many statistics that show staging your home before it is on the market results in more offers and better offers.  This usually results in selling your house for top dollar in the shortest possible time frame.

4) Buying a home is usually an emotional decision.  If your home evokes pleasant emotions you are much more likely to sell your home quickly for top dollar.

 5) The perceived value of a home is what influences the offers.  If your house is staged, it is perceived by the buyers to be worth more money than a comparable house down the street that is vacant or occupied but unstaged.

6) Think of the stress, time and money you will save by selling your home faster with the help of a stager.

7) The fees paid to a stager will not exceed your first necessary price reduction if you don’t stage.
